What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Isn’t it the whole army of evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous for what others have, and you can’t possess it, so you fight and quarrel to take it away from them. And yet the reason you don’t have what you want is that you don’t ask God for it. Prayer: LORD, what appears to cause conflict and difficulty in my life is seldom the authentic root cause. Open my eyes; enable me to see and discern the true issue. Increase my awareness of selfishness and help me to be willing to examine my motives and change them if they are not in agreement with You. When there is something I want, enable me to submit it to You in faith and accept Your decision–even if it is “No.”. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
