Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Prayer: LORD, help me to be more discriminating in what I think about and on what I allow my thoughts and imagination to dwell. Enable me to take authority over my thoughts and be accountable to You for them. I may not be able to keep something inappropriate from coming to my mind, but I can choose to reject it. I want my life to be pleasing to You in thought and action because every action begins with a thought. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
