In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah, the son of Iddo: “The LORD was very angry with your forefathers. Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty. (Zec 1:1-3 NIV)

Prayer: LORD, I go through my days not consciously aware that You may interrupt my “normal” life. There may come a day, however, a specific year, month, and day when You communicate something to me that I need to know, as You did with Zechariah. Help me not be so caught up in the demands of life that I fail to recognize Your communication to me. If it comes, give me wisdom to know what to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
