Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. Luke 9:16-17

The disciples worried. They only had five small loaves and two fish. What would they do?

Five loaves and two fish could never feed the multitudes in the natural realm.

But we have a God who is in the multiplication business!

He works on an entirely different mathematical equation than we are accustomed to.

He takes the little we offer and turns it into more than we could fathom!

How often do we feel as if we have little to offer? The Lord is interested in everything we have to give, even if it seems minuscule to our eyes.

Let’s not be afraid to offer up our gifts, talents, abilities, accomplishments and material things that we may find insignificant. They are not.

When we give up even the littlest of things to the Lord, He brings forth an abundance.

One Response to Divine Multiplication

An excellent message. I recently read an insightful book on this outstanding miracle of our Lord Jesus by Zacharias Tanee Fomum (which I strongly recommend): The Secret of Spiritual Fruitfulness. I was once told the story of a man who gave 10% of his income to the Lord. The Lord blessed him so much so that he was able to give 20% to Him. Then the Lord blessed him even more abundantly so that he gave 30% to the Lord. It went on and on until he was able to give 90% of His total income to the Lord and live on the 10%.
