Imagine we are with a group people hiking in the wilderness.

As darkness falls, we realize our group is lost. We know the way home is north, but no one seems to know which way that is!

After much disagreement and discussion, a quiet member of the group finally steps forward with a compass.

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m going to follow that guy!

There is a lot of confusion and concern about the direction our culture is taking. What was once good is now considered evil, and what was evil is now deemed good.

God’s Word is the compass that will keep us on the right course as individuals and a nation.

So avoid the confusion of a misdirected culture and trust in the truth of God’s Word. His compass always points to Jesus, our true north.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

One Response to Cultural Confusion

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I really love and appreciate this. I’ve never read this scripture (Isa 5:20) and it brings me so much peace. I was on a worldwide call the other day when one of the speakers from the US opened quoted Prov 13:24 (spare the rod and spoil the child) followed by a statement “we all know that’s utter rubbish”. I felt punched in the gut. The world system is so messed up, condoning sin and ridiculing good values. The truth is indeed that Jesus is our true North and the Word is our compass. Amen
