Equal

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”

These words were penned by America’s founding fathers to ensure that all men would have equal rights under the law, and would not be under the thumb of a ruthless king. Not only are we equal in the eyes of the Constitution, we are equal in God’s eyes.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28.

Sometimes we feel that we are not as able, as confident, or as smart as others; especially those that we see in the limelight.

No matter who we are—a famous musician athlete or actor, a politician, a billionaire or an average person—we all stand before the Father in the same way: broken sinners.

Deuteronomy 29:10-11 says: “All of you are standing today in the presence of the LORD your God-your leaders and chief men…with your children and your wives, and the foreigners living in your camps who chop your wood and carry your water.”

We will all stand before the Father, but as believers, we will be presented as children of the King. It will not matter if we were famous, or popular, or wealthy. No matter our social, emotional or financial status, we are all His children and He sees us all as forgiven and covered by the blood of Jesus.

What a wonderful thing to remember the next time we are a little down about our financial or health situation, or just life in general.

Father, thank You that we are all equal in Your eyes, that You love us all equally, with a never ending, unconditional love.
