There are many reasons why God shouldn’t have called you. But don’t worry. You’re in good company.

Moses stuttered.

Timothy had ulcers.

Hosea’s wife was a prostitute.

Jacob was a liar.

David had an affair.

Solomon was too rich.

Jesus was too poor.

Abraham was too old.

David was too young.

Peter was afraid of death.

Lazarus was dead.

John was self-righteous.

Naomi was a widow.

Paul was a murderer.

So was Moses.

Jonah ran from God.

Gideon and Thomas both doubted.

Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.

Elijah was burnt out.

John the Baptist was a loudmouth.

Martha was a worry-wart.

Mary was lazy.

Noah got drunk.

Moses had a short fuse.

So did Peter, Paul—well, lots of folks did.

But God doesn’t require a job interview.

He doesn’t hire and fire like most bosses, because He’s more our Dad than our Boss.

He doesn’t look at financial gain or loss.

He’s not prejudiced or partial, not judging, not deaf to our cry, not blind to our need.

As much as we try, God’s gifts are free.

We could do wonderful things for wonderful people and still not be Wonderful.

Satan says, “You’re not worthy.” Jesus says, “So what? I AM.”

Satan looks back and sees our mistakes.

God looks back and sees the cross.

He doesn’t calculate what you did in 1998.

It’s not even on the record.

Sure. There are lots of reasons why God shouldn’t have called us.

But if we are magically in love with Him, if we hunger for Him more than our next breath, He’ll use us in spite of who we are, where we’ve been, or what we look like.

Pray that as Christians, we will step out of our limitations into the illimitable nature of who God is.

Then our passion for God and our passion to communicate with Him will make mincemeat of our limitations.

“He doesn’t calculate what you did in 1998. It’s not even on the record.” Thank you Jesus. Iam so excited that he does not remember my past and its not even in his record.

    Thank you Jesus

I just wanted to know that I take offense to your picture of the cross in this email. I am not blaming you as you obviously did not intend to demean Jesus in any way. The reason why I am troubled is that the sky above the cross in your picture is clearly marked with many ” Chemtrails ” which are chemically laden vapor like trails that sprayed from government jets on a daily basis in an ongoing covert project to humanly engineer our weather. Christians in general are ignorant of this unfortunate ongoing experiment where heavy metals such as aluminum, strontium, and barium are sprayed in an aerosol base from planes to create clouds, manipulate water vapor in the atmosphere, manipulate temperature on land and in the sky, and influence weather patterns in many abnormal and nefarious ways . This daily spraying is poisoning our air, water, and soil to a degree that has caused all monitoring of these chemicals to be eliminated. The government has gone to great lengths to keep this secret and to disinform an unsuspecting public. This is a tragic health crisis and our ignorance is grave sign of our lack of discernment and wisdom as believers as the world elitists ramp up for the antichrist. WE have been deceived en masse and all must be warned that this is just one of many things the enemy is reeking upon our world. You may not have know about this prior to my email but you will now. This is not a conspiracy theory but is actually happening right before our blinded eyes.

Re: But if we are magically ….. I would reconsider these words. “But if we love Jesus for what He did for each of us, If we hunger for Him daily, He can use us in spite of who we were, because of how He has changes us into a likeness of Him”.

  5. Tamirat Hailu says:

It is all right and it is based on the word of God. But it lacks the information that encourage to ask God forgiveness. Repentance, leave all what is with us from the old nature. Start following Jesus up to the end with His saving grace. The message should be complete!

Quit educating. God truly qualifies the unqualified when they truly humble and submit themselves to serve.

  8. Charlie Deck says:

I am all of those things, but He sees the cross. Praise Him!! We all need to read this every morning, understanding who we are, but more importantly, Who He is.

  9. Joel Canders says:

This is so true. I recall a season in my walk with God, that I thought that He was done with me. I failed Him miserably, & felt so far away from Him. After confessing/repenting of the sin/rebellion I was in, He began to gradually reveal to me that He was’ nt done with me. He had just begun to do a work in me. Now I truly believe that if He can use a whoremonger like me. He can use anybody!

  10. Richard says:

“But if we are magically in love with Him, if we hunger for Him more than our next breath”. I’m not there – yet. I’ve been taught a lot about God – school, churches and God’s own people. I think I have given Him my heart and my life. But the longer I live (66 soon), the more I doubt my ability to love anyone – even to really be in a relationship with anyone. Not being in a fellowship is a sandgrain in my Everest of incapacity.

    Amen
