Have you ever focused on the unfailing love of the Father?

Psalm 48:9 says:  Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. Meditate on it—think about it, dwell on it, ponder it.

We are all guilty of reading His Word so we can mark it off on our “to do” list, like God only cares that we read it.

When we do that, it’s like we haven’t read it at all. We get nothing out of it.

My daughter has written several songs and some of the words of the chorus of one song are: Help me feel the caress of your unfailing love.

Those few words say a lot about the love of Jesus. He helps us in our time of need.

David wrote multiple Psalms about the unfailing love of Jesus, and most of them were written in a time of dire need for protection. Our God protects us, He helps us.

That doesn’t mean we won’t have troubles, but He helps us through those troubles.

In your unfailing love, be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.  Psalm 119:76.

His love is like a gentle caress.

In other Psalms, David wrote about how God’s love surrounds us and holds us. He is not a vengeful God who delights in hurting us; He is full of compassion and love.

David said How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7.

However, the best part of God’s love is not that it gently holds us and protects us, but that is it unfailing, which means without error or fault. It’s reliable and constant.

That’s a hard thing to find in this world.

There’s even a verse in Proverbs that says many claim to have unfailing love, but it’s hard to find.

God is all of this to us, and more.

He’s a loving, compassionate God, who gently holds us, and His love never fails.

Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing love.  You didn’t have to give it to us, you could have been distant and uncaring as the Creator, but that is not who You are.  You chose to love and cherish us even when we aren’t loveable.  Thank you that your love never fails
