When someone paints a masterpiece or makes a beautiful craft, when they write a song or make a piece of art out of what most people would call junk, they are showing their creativity. They make something beautiful out of minor, insignificant things.
So which one is the most creative? Actually, none of them. God is. He is more creative than anyone on earth.
Creativity is said to be when something new and valuable is formed (Merriam-Webster dictionary). When you make something new, it is something that had not existed before.
That’s what God did. He made the universe out of nothing. He spoke waterfalls, oceans, mountains and valleys into existence. He spoke and flowers appeared, and tasty food grew on plants.
However, His best creation was man, who was made in His image, with thinking, speaking, intelligence and creativity.
So God created human beings in his own image… Genesis 1:27.
And when He looked at His creation, He said that it was very good! Genesis 1:31.
When Jesus died on the cross, He again did something new, something that had never been before—a way to the Father wherein we could have access to Him at any time and have the ability to be His child. When we believe in Him, He makes our lives something new and valuable.
It is not anything that we have done.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God… Ephesians 2:8.
When we allow Him to work in us, He shows Himself through us to lead others to Him, to minister to those who are hurting, to shine His light to the world.
Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
So even though we may not feel like it, we are a work of art and the object of the greatest Creator of all, who created you and something in your heart that had never been before. Praise the Lord!
