It seems to me that the trip from trick or treat to Christmas wish list, straight from give me or else to I want, I want, I want is much too fast. Somewhere in here, there used to be time set aside for some thanksgiving. So, in the spirit of resisting cultural pressure, I want to express some heartfelt thanksgiving.

I’m thankful for a warm home to live in this morning. I’m thankful for a wife who loves me unconditionally and two precious sons who still seek their father’s advice and friendship even though they’re grown men on their own. I’m thankful for the opportunity to rise this morning and work at a job that challenges and fulfills me most every day. I’m thankful for a building full of colleagues who are excited about their work and are dedicated to making a difference every day in the lives of our listeners.

And I’m also thankful for thousands of people committed to the same mission of making a difference. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve. Thank you for your prayers and involvement in AllWorship. What a fantastic year it has been!

Webster defines thankfulness as being aware of a benefit received, well pleased, and expressive of those facts.

David agrees when he says in Psalm 100 that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good, and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.

As we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends, don’t forget that even amid turmoil, strife, and chaos, God is on His throne. He made us, and we are His people. He is good. His love and faithfulness endure forever.

I am most thankful for the gift of Jesus. Even though we celebrate Him all year long on AllWorship, there is something special about the music we hear during the Christmas season. AllWorship has a channel set aside just for Christmas music. Please pray about the new listeners who will land on AllWorship over the next few weeks in search of more Christmas music. Research says this time of year is when many listeners hunt for a new music source. We believe this is a good place for them to land and to stay.

Thankfulness asks us to be aware of the blessings we have received, well pleased and expressive. As I look back on the last year of ministry at AllWorship, my heart is full of thankfulness for your support and prayers. Thank you. May God richly bless you today.

One Response to Thankful

What a beautiful message, thank you for the Blessing in reading it! Grateful is a word I tend to use more & more & even use it in a password, to be constantly reminded of God’s Faithfulness & His never ending love, for us. I hope & pray that more & more people will find their way to the Lord & know that if He forgave us, who are we to not forgive those that are hard to forgive. I try to keep that in the back of my head on a daily basis when I run into somebody that is weighted down with unforgiveness! Lord bless AllWorship! May 2024 be a year of Bountiful Blessings!
